His artwork investigates the possibilities and limitations of automation in image creation. As java applets, cgi scripts, or C programs, his software produces visual imagery for online websites and offline prints. John has consulted on website projects such as: The Sandra Gering Gallery Online, ada 'web, The Thing and The Dia Center for the Arts. He was also a faculty member and systems administrator for the graduate Computer Art department at the School of Visual Arts.
